Meet Mademoiselle H.
For many people, the Citroën H camionette is as much a symbol of France as the Eiffel Tower, well-baked baguettes and the hedgerows of Normandy. (We actually found ours in a shed near Heathrow airport, but don’t tell anyone).
With their distinctive corrugated panelling, sliding door and 2CV headlights, these little grey vans dominated commercial life in France from the end of the Second World War to the beginning of the 1980s.
They’re incredibly flexible, hugely reliable and easy to convert. (Well, that’s what it says in the brochure.) It took us months to clean the van up...
...and kit her out with all the machinery it takes to make great coffee...
...But thanks to my dad, we eventually got her up and running...
...just in time for Christmas 2013. We did our first outing at a local Christmas street event and en route properly from February 2014.
If you’d like to hire Joe’s Vintage Coffee Van to give your event an extra special talking point please give us a ring on 07989 940078 or find us on Facebook.
We look forward to saying Bonjour.
